A server is where all your information are stored so that anyone on the internet can access when they visit your domain/website. So to run a website, you basically need to pay for domain name which is usually once every year. On average about $8 to $10 per year.

Second you need to decide which server to get.
Personally, I am a loyal member of Host Gator. You can host unlimited number of domains on one web server.
Remember you need to think far and have vision on what you intend to get out of your server. If you are planning to make money online, recall that you need multiple niche/website domains to start your money making empire. Thus, having one server that can manage multiple or even unlimited domain is a good choice. Otherwise, you would need 1 domain per server, which is going to cost a bomb the more site you have.
